Jen Justice Band at the DuPage County Fair

The Jen Justice Band [The JJB] was formed in the city Of Chicago in the spring of 2004. The band came together as a result of a chance meeting between Ray McKenzie, the band's guitarist and Jennifer Jucovics at a Starbucks across from the CME where Ray and Jen worked. Jen had been singing in cafes around Chicago and Ray was looking for a lead singer for a band he was putting together with his childhood best friend, Drummer Dean Cassara. Ray and Dean had reunited and decided to put together a new band, having been members of the fusion band Forest. Together Ray, Dean and Jen formed the nucleus of The JJB and have been entertaining audiences in the Chicago metropolitan area ever since.

“Kidbucks Game Show”

Kidbucks Game Show at the DuPage County Fair

A thrilling  game show where randomly selected members of the audience, participate in wild and crazy games.  The final winner enters the Kidbucks chamber and grabs as many “Kidbucks “  as possible, as they swirl about the chamber.  Catch the fun, excitement and prizes!  If you would like to be a contestant on the show, you must get your free raffle ticket at the beginning of the show, and be between the ages of 3 - 15  You could be the big winner!

How the game is played

Nine contestants  between the ages of three and fifteen are chosen from the audience by a raffle system.   The contestants are divided  into three groups based on their size and physical ability.  Each group of three contestants play wild and crazy games to determine a winner.   The winner of each heat moves into the winners circle to await the final round and the runners up all receive a prize.

When all three semi finalists have been determined ,  the  final round is played.  In this round the semifinalists "spin to win" on the winners wheel.  Age and size give no one an advantage. Only lady luck knows who will win this round! The one who spins the highest number is the grand champion and enters the money chamber where they have  30 seconds to  grab as many Kidbucks as they can as they swirl about the chamber.  The Kidbucks are redeemed for prizes based on the number of bucks collected. Additionally at the end of the show, one more ball from the raffle machine is drawn and the person that holding that ticket wins a prize as well.

Great American Duck Race at the DuPage County Fair

High Entertainment Value: "You can't watch ducks race without smiling." Almost every performance has audience members who have returned to see the show for the second or third time.

Unique: This show offers the "something different" people have been wanting. T.V., radio, and newspapers have fodder for endless "wise quacks" and "fowl jokes" about the new attraction for your event. The show owner's name, Robert Duck, just adds to the fun.

Educational: Interesting facts about Mallard duck are revealed throughout the show. The educational portion of the show was prepared by the Ducks Unlimited, Inc. national staff, exclusively for the Great American Duck Race of New Mexico.

Hands on Fun: Sixteen children (and adults) are chosen during each show to release the ducks in the race track. Prizes are given to the winners of each race.  Five races during each show.

Tennesota

Tennesota at the DuPage County Fair July 21-25, 2010

Tennesota is the twangy alter-ego of singer/songwriters Jonathan Rundman and Beki Hemingway. Rundman and Hemingway began writing and performing together while friends and neighbors in Chicago but when their careers called them elsewhere, they kept in touch and continued collaborating from their separate locations.

Beki Hemingway brings the Tennessee half to the mix, having lived in both Knoxville and Nashville during the writing of their debut album. The Minnesota remainder is represented by Jonathan Rundman of Minneapolis. These new songs retain the flavor of the towns of their origin, with Hemingway's breathtaking vocals and lovely, melancholy melodies recalling Music City's country fringe (Emmylou Harris, Buddy & Julie Miller, etc.) and Rundman's heartland harmonies and garagey instrumentation echoing his Twin Cities forefathers (Jayhawks, Paul Westerberg, etc.). The blend is tailor made, and even carries hints of the duo's other less-expected musical commonalities like '80s New Wave and traditional church hymnody.
